The Heroes of the Year Awards Luncheon convenes New Yorkers who are invested in their communities’ health and the future of scientific breakthroughs and cancer research. Each year the luncheon recognizes a philanthropist who have distinguished themselves with their ability to balance careers, social obligations, and philanthropic endeavors.
Since its inception, the luncheon has raised more than $5.2 million for patient services and research. Since 2020, funds raised at the luncheon benefit the American Cancer Society’s ResearcHERS program, which helps sustain women-led cancer research, launch new careers, and support a new generation of young women considering a future in science.
