Individuals and corporations unite across New York City in support of one goal - creating a world free from the pain and suffering of cancer. The American Cancer Society hosts seven unique distinguished events in NYC to raise critical funds that help us accomplish our mission delivery pillars of Discovery, Advocacy and Patient Support. HOPE LODGE BASH

The American Cancer Society has a network of more than 30 Hope Lodges across the country, provide lodging and support services (all free of charge) for cancer patients receiving outpatient treatment away from home. The Jerome L. Greene Family Center Hope Lodge provides a safe, supportive, and self-sufficient home for people who need to come to one of the New York City area hospitals for treatment. The Hope Lodge Bash raises critical funds for this facility. This year’s gala will be held at TriBeCa Rooftop and will consist of a cocktail reception, dinner program and after party.

DANCE AGAINST CANCER

Dance Against Cancer brings the global dance community together for a one-night-only annual performance at Lincoln Center. Guests enjoy world premiere performances by the dance worlds’ brightest stars from New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and many more. The event has raised more than $2.7 million to support our mission.

FINANCIAL SERVICES CARES GALA

The Financial Services Cares Gala celebrates the financial services industry’s commitment to the fight against cancer. Originated to pay tribute to the late Eugene D. O’Kelly, former CEO of KPMG, the event brings together powerhouse financial institutions for a night of networking and entertainment. Entering its 16th year, the gala has raised more than $22.5 million.

ALLAN SHEDLIN MEMORIAL GOLF CLASSIC

The Allan Shedlin Memorial Golf Classic is the American Cancer Society’s premier golf fundraiser and has raised more than $10 million. This exclusive outing is attended by C-level executives from powerhouse financial institutions and honors a top philanthropist in the industry. The classic was created in memory of Allan Shedlin, a dedicated American Cancer Society volunteer for 32 years. Fenway Golf Club, which boosts a magnificent Tillinghast-designed course, hosts the outing each year.

COACHES VS CANCER DINNER BENEFIT

The Coaches vs. Cancer Dinner Benefit brings the sports media, digital and entertainment industries together for drinks, dinner and dialogue. The evening is highlighted by a distinguished panel of coaches and former athletes who give their perspective and leadership on and off the court. The event has raised over 2.4 million since it's inception and honored such sports titans as Jim Calhoun and Jon Bogusz.

WINE & SPIRITS INDUSTRY'S GALA

The Wine & Spirits Industry’s Gala is a prestigious event that has raised more than $17.8 million to support the American Cancer Society’s mission.  Senior level executives from across the country enjoy an evening of exclusive networking and an elegant cocktail reception showcasing top product in the industry. The gala is supported by the industry’s leading distributors, suppliers, producers and publications and honors a top philanthropist who serve in the industry.

HEROES OF THE YEAR LUNCHEON

The Heroes of the Year Luncheon convenes New Yorkers invested in their communities’ health and women’s roles in scientific breakthroughs and cancer research. Each year the luncheon recognizes a philanthropist who has distinguished themselves with their ability to balance careers, social obligations, and philanthropic endeavors. Since its inception, the luncheon has raised more than $5.5 million. Funds also benefit our ResearcHERS program, which helps sustain women-led cancer research.
